10 Frog Hybrids You Need to See

You may have seen frog hybrid photos of frogs and other animals online like frog dogs, frog cats, and frog crabs. Although most of us know about the powers of Photoshop and apps that allow you to merge and edit images, some people may still wonder if these incredible frog hybrids exist.

Frog hybrid images are not real photos of living frogs. Frog dog, frog cat, and frog horse photos found on social media platforms and in search engines are edited images consisting of two separate yet merged photos. This is generally done with Photoshop or similar apps.

But hybrid or frog mashup photos take a lot of hard work but are fun to create and observe! Let’s have a look at some of the best frog hybrid photos on the internet. Just keep in mind, these frogs only truly exist in these edited images, and in our imagination! Let’s dive in.

1. Frog Crab

Doesn’t this very cool frog crab image make you want to go look for them on the beach! Although crabs thrive in saltwater, in real life, frogs generally die when exposed to high concentrations of salt. Frogs breathe and drink through their skin and saltwater drys out frogs hindering their breathing. But this frog crab hybrid would certainly thrive in saltwater. The comments on this Reddit post rightfully suggest this could be a “Kermit Crab” or “Crabbit!”

2. Frog Hippo

This Photoshopped image of a baby hippo and a baby frog is not only intriguing but pretty cute! With almost 11k upvotes on Reddit, this is certainly a very popular frog hybrid. This Frog Hippo would be pretty good at climbing trees thanks to its padded toes, and it has a bit of a belly from eating so many bugs.

3. Cat Frog

The Cat Frog has a frog head on a cat body. It has big eyes and can see 360 degrees around itself. It uses its tongue to lick its fur and stay clean. Although the cat frog is afraid of water, it doesn’t mind drinking out of the dog bowl. If the dog gets too close, it will just boop it with its long tongue.

4. Frog Dog

Frog Dogs are fascinating creatures that do not exist. This breed of the bull-frog-dog is a pretty ironic hybrid. Although it smiles all the way into its forelegs, this frog is a lucky go-getter who loves to play ball by sitting still and catching the ball with its long tongue (CTNF). Frog Dogs are a fun play on words from the American Bullfrog.

5. Frog Horse

A frog horse with purple hair, why not? It could evolve into a frog unicorn one day, who knows. But for now, it’s a bit awkward and clumsy. With their long neck and stubby body, frog horses spend most of the day waiting for food to come by their snouts. They swim with their head sticking out of the water and breathe through their nose. You can spot their purple hair fluttering in the water behind them.

6. Bull Frog

You may have heard of a bullfrog, but you probably know it does not have horns. This photoshopped image takes bullfrogs to the literal sense by merging a frog and a bull to form a frog with horns.

7. Frog Tiger

You have to appreciate how much work goes into creating these kinds of images. Although this one is not perfect, it is a cool concept. The Frog Tiger may or may not run fast. It could climb using the pads on its front toes and the claws on its back toes.

8. Lion Frog

As ferocious as it may sound, lion frogs would be pretty strange animals. With their long main and long legs, lion frogs would have a hard time breathing underwater and swimming. Although their jump could be majestic, their swimming would be pretty clumsy!

9. Frog Avocado (Frogvocado)

After the Catvocado, here is the Frogvocado. With its bumpy brown body and tiny beady eyes, the frogvocado looks a bit sad – but it is happy it’s a /ForbiddenSnack. This actually is not a photoshopped image and is a photo of a real frog called the Black Rain Frog.

10. Banana Frog

What is yellow, has legs, a peel, and bulging eyes? A Banana Frog of course! You can’t eat it but it may try to bite you.
